The IR Hunter MK II is designed and built to be the perfect dedicated thermal imaging scope. It can also be used in various other applications such as clip-on system, hand held system, or even forward observation device.
- ETR Enhanced Target Recognition
Enhanced Target Recognition is a capital feature of the IR Hunter MK II. While using other thermal scopes, important imagery is often washed out against the sky and horizon even with the use of frequent recalibrations. The IR HUNTERs ETR focuses its processing power on your target, resulting in enhanced and precisely detailed target images.
- E-Zoom Digital Magnification
The ability to effectively and efficiently zoom in and out is a very beneficial feature and with the turrets that are built into the IR HUNTER MK II you will find that there is not a better way to perform these functions at night in the dark. Buttons are difficult to navigate but our turret knobs are instinctively easy to operate.
- MAXPOL Multi Polarity Control
With most thermal sights you have a white hot and black hot polarity mode which you switch back and forth to find which the best image is. With the IR HUNTER MK II we have the new MaxPol Multiple Polarity Control mode that gives you 3 levels of black hot and 3 levels of white hot so you can get the best image.
- DFC Digital Focus Control
In order to increase performance we needed to add a fixed focus Athermalized diamond turned Germanium optic. This gave us superior detection and to accommodate for the focus we did this through our electronics. The silver lining is that it also makes the system appear to be higher resolution and that is an added advantage.
The IR Hunter MK II was designed for military applications at a consumer affordable price point. All the components inside the IR Hunter MK II are the highest quality: the BAE Systems long wave infrared (LWIR) uncooled thermal core, combined with Emagin’s OLED, 10,000:1contrast VGA display and our housings are made from 6061 aircraft aluminum.
