NVD’s Boresighted Night Sight – Long Range (BNS-LR) is an incredibly powerful night vision clip-on sight with an impressive magnification. Big brother to the BNS, it can be mounted in front of any boresighted daytime scope with magnification ranging from one to twenty power.
The BNS-LR does not require any boresighting and once mounted the day sight provides the aiming point. The BNS-LR maintains boresight despite normal misalignments due to mount position errors and does not alter the sighting centerline (parallax is unchanged from day scope). The BNS-LR also contains no beam splitter or folded optics to go out of alignment.
The PVS-27 is revolutionary when used with a high magnification fixed or variable power day scope. The magnification is provided by the day scope, which typically has much smaller optics than those associated with normal 4X or 6X night vision weapon sights. This means there is no loss in system gain or typical f/number loss associated with large optics. Variable magnification day scopes can actually zoom in (up to 20X) and still retain the same gain with only a slight loss in resolution.
Optimized for medium and long-range sniper platforms including the SR-25/MK11, XM107, .338 Lapua, .308 M24, Chandler & 300 Win Mag. Effective on all platforms from carbines to .50 caliber semi-automatic and bolt action. The BNS-LR includes FLIR’s proprietary Shock Mitigation System TM, allowing the unit to be used on platforms up to and including .50 caliber bolt-action .
The NVD PVS-27/BNS-LR utilizes MIL SPEC parts and accessories and is built with either Commercial, MIL GRADE or MIL SPEC ITT/Exelis GEN III Pinnacle Auto Gated image intensifier tubes (click on SPECIFICATIONS tab for more info).
